Wonderfully fragrant, this wine really delivers the goods. Candied citrus fruits, juicy and rich, with an extended middle palate that brings in some skin flavors and hints of stone and earth. The finish extends for a full minute or longer.

This strong and supple Merlot brings finesse and power to play, mixing black fruits with veins of coffee, dark chocolate, and a hint of pepper. Small percentages of Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc add muscle, but Merlot is the star here, firm and persistent, streaked with smoke and finished with butterscotch.

From an older block (planted in 1990), this tightly-wound, beautifully-structured Chardonnay brings together tart and tasty orange citrus fruits, wet stone minerality, hints of lime and a core of steel. It’s a racehorse, beautifully proportioned, and built for both near term and long term enjoyment.

Sharp, dense, tight and oaky; this has a lot of plump pineapple, apple and sweet citrus fruit. There is a wonderful mix of spice, herb, fruit and acid. Deep and focused, this wine has serious guts and the flavors last a good long time.

More new oak shows here; it’s packed with butterscotch and toasted, caramel-coated, apple-flavored fruit. It’s tighter, spicier and oakier than the Elerding Vineyard Chardonnay from Januik, though at the moment it seems less complex in the finish.

This has the sharp, spicy excellence of the best Washington Syrahs; it’s got precision, depth and texture. The fruit flavors are compact, buttressed with earthy flavors that include iron and mineral and herb. There is a leafy edge to the tannins suggestive of tobacco. It’s a complex and fascinating wine that should age well.

A complete and expressive wine, with vibrant berry/cherry fruit, supple textures and a gentle hand with the oak. The tannins have been well managed and mediated; the wine is tannic but smooth with no roughness or excessively green flavors. It captures just a hint of pepper and herb, and is streaked with coffee highlights through the finish.

The wine is tight, sharp, aromatic, tart and juicy, with dry tannins that take over quickly. Though quite acidic for this vineyard, it displays classic Champoux fruit flavors of Bing cherry, blueberry and cassis. It’s drinking beautifully, smooth and supple, finishing with a balanced mix of mocha and coconut.

Sharp, tight, herbal and dense; this is a young wine that needs breathing time. The balance is perfect, with beautiful notes of spice and peppery herb; the fruit is tight and tart, a mix of wild berry and bramble.

Dark and sappy, this has a wonderful floral top note, and then what comes in is a lot of sappy, juicy berry fruit. The barrel toast is proportional to the tannins and the fruit; it’s a sappy, dark, ripe, tannic wine for those who like the power of Petite Sirah, but ultimately want more structure and acid.
