Well built, with deep tart-sweet fruit and hefty American oak. Perhaps Aussie-inspired, but the subtle hints of typical Cape earthiness are a plus here, adding unique character. Closes long and very smooth with polished cocoa, smoke and dark cherry-plum notes.

Soundly built, this wine has heavenly aromas of dark berry, forest floor and an overlay of oak that keeps evolving in the glass. Full-bodied but lithe, the wine dances on the tongue with cinnamon, smoke, leather, and a dark core of fruit which balances the smooth tannin and firm acidity. Exiting the stage with lasting traces of smoke, leather and coffee, this wine is drinking beautifully now, and will last through 2012. Imported by 57 Main Street Wine Co.
