Though it has nice white pepper notes that coat maple and black berry fruit aromas, there’s lots of wood here from start to finish. Charred oak envelopes mixed berry fruit in the mouth, where the wine’s texture falls flat. Residual woodiness on the back end lasts a little longer than we would have liked.

Cherry, licorice and floral notes on the nose continue with a spicy, juicy fruit that integrates well on the palate. The finish is bone dry.
