There’s a hint of botrytis on the nose in the dried-apricot and lime scents, but everything else about this wine is crystalline. The fruit flavors of apricot and peach are the freshest, ripest imaginable, balanced by lively, racy acidity, while intense mineral notes grace the lengthy finish. —J.C.

A bit tarry and rubbery on the nose, this plump kabinett boasts plenty of leesy pear and apple flavors allied to a slightly custardy texture. Not as impressive as in other recent vintages. Imported by Michael Skurnik Wines.

Rather sweet for a kabinett, but remarkably balanced and pure. Starts with lovely spring flowers, lime and chalky, mineral notes, then develops peach and green apple flavors, finishing with a touch of vanilla. Editors’ Choice. —J.C.
