Heavy and full-bodied, a dense, soft Pinot Noir that seems too ripe for comfort. The cherry and currant flavors veer into raisins. The vineyard is from the warmest part of Russian River Valley, almost into Dry Creek Valley.

Dry and tannic, this Pinot has baked cherry and blackberry flavors, with a harsh, peppery edge. Tastes like the grapes got really cooked under the heat waves of this blazing vintage.

The vineyard is in a warm part of the appellation, almost in Dry Creek, and the wine shows a soft, delicate fruitiness that makes it appealing now. It’s rich in cherry, cola and spice flavors, with a silky texture and multiple layers of interest.

Fans of big, soft, rich, high-alcohol Zins will rejoice with this epic bottling. The candied, pastry-filling flavors of blackberries, cherries, raspberries, plums, chocolate and red licorice are almost sweet, although the wine is probably dry, technically speaking.

The vineyard is in the warmest part of Russian River Valley, almost into Dry Creek Valley, and this Zin shows elements of both. It’s distinctively varietal in wild berry and peppery spice flavors and rich, fine tanins, but also has a crisp streak of acidity. It will age, but is best in its vibrant, fruity youth.

Dry, soft and earthy, this Pinot Noir shows flavors of cherries, cola, tobacco, black pepper and herbs, wrapped into a silky texture. It could develop additional bottle complexities over the next few years.

The vineyard is virtually in Dry Creek Valley, so it’s not surprising to find the briary, brambly intensity of that warm Sonoma appellation. It’s a good, lush, likeable Zin, brimming with wild berry, leather, tobacco and pepper spice flavors swimming in firm, dry tannins.
