Firm, rich and smooth, framed by silky ripe tannins. This plush, muscular wine offers mounds of black currant, blackberry, plum, chocolate, coffee, anise, spice and herb flavors. Long and sleek on the finish.

Very rich, fruity and feminine, a fleshy, somewhat soft Cab for drinking now. Offers ripe flavors of blackberries, cherries, raspberries, plums, cola and cedar, with firm tannins and a dry, spicy finish.

Forward and attractive now, although the tannins are firm and provide a bold structure. Shows great aromatics in the roasted coffeebean, blackberry preserves, pain grillé, anise and cedar, with similar flavors. Polished and dynamic. Give it through 2015.

Enormous aromatics of vanilla and chocolate, dark berries and spice cake. Yet it holds on to the subtle notes as well. An open palate with sweet-tart fruit and vanilla notes. The rich, round feel, the depth of fruit, and the velvety tannins nearly veil the solid structure. Finishes dry and long, with coffee and chocolate flavors. A newcomer with budding cult credentials. Hold three to five years if you can keep your hands off it.

Wonderful nose with a classic elegance, green olives, green herbs and pepper, perfumed and powerful; sweet in the front of the mouth, but with great extract and power; gripping and finely focused; lots of black fruits and soft, silky tannins; long, layered finish with lots of flavors competing for dominance. (19.5/20)
