The fruit for this Pinot Grigio comes from a vineyard on a hill above Clarendon. The wine opens with citrus and pear aromas, moving on to flavors of golden apple and pink grapefruit. On the heavy side for a PG, but its fresh, straightforward style is appealing.

Meaty, with a sexy bass line of plum. Tannins are smooth; accents are of vanilla bean, and some easy toasty, woody notes. Broad but not abyss-deep, but still very enjoyable and drinkable. Imported by USA Wine West.

From a top subsection of McLaren Vale, this well-crafted Shiraz features a nice balance of sweet and savory notes. Ripe blackberry and plum flavors are matched by nuances of cedar, spice and meat. This creamy-textured Shiraz seems to be already approaching maturity; drink it now through 2012.

Made from partially dried grapes—“moda amarone”—this is a lush, creamy Cabernet (85%) with bold chocolate and cassis flavors. Soft and elegant on the finish.
