A hard one to define, with raosted chestnut, nougat, raisins and toasted marshmallows. Maybe it's starting to fade away. Seems earthy and engaging, but also soft and flat. May have been better in earlier days.

Oak and lees add extra layers of complex interest to this smooth wine. It has pretty flavors of apples, peaches and honeydew, and those Monterey acids are firm and bright. The finish is notable for its rich spices and length.

Long on flavor, this is a classy wine meant for white tablecloths. The pleasant aromas are of green olives, smoke, white chocolate and berries, and a hint of bacon fat. Drinks soft and plush, striking a nice balance between herbs and fruit. Some sharpness from acids is okay, and suggests short-term ageworthiness.

Smells late-picked and ultraripe, opening with a blast of rich tangerine, lime and peach sorbet aromas, complexed with smoke and vanilla. Flamboyant in the mouth, too; a big, unctuous wine that’s dry and rich at the same time. Crisp Salinas Valley acidity boosts the flavors.

A bit sharp, from entry to finish, with an acidic bite to the blackberry, herb and oak flavors. Could become more mellow in a year or two, but it’s a gamble.

There are some nice, ripe flavors of peaches and pears here, but also a disagreeable harshness, especially in the finish. It leaves a peppery burn on the palate. There’s also a ton of oak, more than the underlying fruit seems to need.

Tastes basically like Chardonnay, with peaches and cream, pineapple and smoky vanilla flavors. But a nutty cashew note and citrusy acidity set it apart.

This wine seems overly leesy, and very high acidity makes things even tarter, almost sour. The underlying flavors are citrusy and lemony, making the wine taste like a Sauvignon Blanc. It’s not very “Chardonnay,” but it’s clean and vibrant.
