Here’s a stainless steel-fermented Chard that features nothing but cool-climate varietal flavor. It’s a floral wine, reminiscent of unoaked New Zealand Chardonnay, with overtones of kiwi, lime, nectarine and vanilla, accented by bright acidity.

Keller enters the big leagues with this marvelously layered Pinot Noir. For starters, it’s delicious. Dry and crisp, the flavors are of ripe cherries, raspberries, tangerines, pomegranates and cola, with smoky, spicy complexities from new French oak. The mouthfeel is smooth and velvety, leading to a long, fruity finish. Best now and through 2010.

The new oak really sticks out on this Chardonnay. It’s toothpicky, with strong char and woodsap flavors that seem to overpower a nice, fruity wine underneath.

This is a powerful Chardonnay. It’s explosive in tropical fruit, in malic acids and in new charred oak. All the parts kind of stick out on their own, going in different directions. It’s a good New World style, but it should have more synergy.

Here’s a big, rich, thick Pinot that almost seems more like a southern Rhône wine, it’s that dark and full-bodied. The flavors are ripe and jammy, of pie-filling black cherries, black raspberries, cola, anise and smoky oak.

Tastes like there’s a great deal of residual sugar left over, giving the wine an overtly sugary sweetness that’s almost like Sauternes.

A few years in the bottle are beginning to age this charming Chardonnay, although its brisk acidity and minerality remain. The pear, guava, nectarine and tangerine flavors are just starting to pick up a dried fruit character. Complex and savory, it’s a very fine wine to drink now.

An extraordinary Chardonnay whose complicated richness is balanced with tight acidity and a firm grounding of stony minerals. Brings to mind a great Chablis, with its zesty tang followed by elaborate layers of tropical fruits and pears. Utterly delicious, wildly appealing, a wine that will develop bottle interest over the next six years. Only 97 cases were produced.
