This is a wonderful Syrah, opens with a rich and ripe nose, loaded with tobacco, leather, earth, licorice and black fruits lightly scented with earth and gravel; ripe and powerful flavors, black fruits, cherries and licorice, tar; elegant and very well balanced with red fruits emerging in the mid-mouth, big chewy tannins, but not oppressive; long finish, leather and fruit, drying tannins but well contained; this is a new label to me, but this is a great effort, although the 15.5% alcohol will not appeal to all.
