Brooding black fruit with waves of savory spice start this wine out well. The spicy but juicy black fruit flavors are integrated and soft. The wine has depth and an elegant demeanor but fun, upfront fruit at the same time. An interesting sip for myriad beef and lamb dishes.

The exuberant character of this sparkler starts with the bright aromas of apple, pear, lemon and nuts. On the palate, there are crisp notes of citrus and more toasty spice. A clean, approachable wine to pair with salads, spicy cuisine.

Despite its relative youth, this Virgina-made sparkler is pungently toasty on the nose, then moves into green apple and lime flavors. It does show its dosage a little, but finishes with decent flourishes of smoke, toast and citrus.

Shows some good potential, with ginger and toast aromas that develop into meaty, soy and mushroom flavors on the palate. Creamy mouthfeel, too. Too bad there's a hint of an odd, plastic-like note to the finish.
