Franz Haas, one of Italy’s best producers from the north, has recently ventured into winemaking in the deep south. This shows great purity of fruit with aromas of raspberry, cherry, white almond and some lingering spice.

Delicate and graceful, this Franz Haas selection is redolent of almonds and acacia flowers, lightly laced with green fruits and flowers. It is everything that Pinot Grigio can be and Pinot Gris rarely is: elegant and subtle, with flowers and honey, rather than barrels, adding the grace notes. Supple and balanced, it continues along a smooth path through a lingering finish.

A good well balanced Pino Grigio. Light but not too light, good flavor, and should would be a great summer wine.
