Massaro Rosa (made with Negroamaro grapes) is a bright pink rosé with a generous bouquet of rose, cranberry, raspberry, citrus and pink grapefruit. There’s great structure and persistency here and a pairing with baked clams or crab cakes would work perfectly. Very nice.

Here’s a jammy, syrupy and dense expression of Primitivo with chewy layers of black cherry, leather, spice and tobacco. There’s a sweet, overripe note in there as well that recalls strawberry comfiture and the wine is dense and chewy on the close.

Sweet aromas of ripe fruit, prunes, cherry liqueur and candied fruit appear at first and are followed by Christmas spice, nutmeg and cinnamon. This is a hearty, cold weather blend of Aglianico and Petit Verdot that would pair with gnocchi in a creamy gorgonzola sauce.
