Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Old nose but pleasant with good depth of aromas, very sweet, raspberry aromas, a bit dusty; sweet in the mouth with a nice mix of fruits on the palate, black cherries, cranberries, black fruits; sweet and tight in the mouth, very focused; spicy, earthy and hot at the finish but poised and a good expression of the art. Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Sweet nose, barnyardy, lots of black cherry and plum, slightly metallic with an acidic bent; sweet fruit in the front of the mouth with a promise of good sweet balance, but typical of this vintage, the dry searing acidity emerges as the wine passes over the palate; quite dry at the finish, with the overstated acidity defining the ending, and overshadowing the fruit; still this is better than many in this troubled vintage.
