No, this is not a concentrated intense Grigio. But it is light-boded, clean and refreshing, with ample pear and apple flavors perked up by crisp lemony notes on the finish. A wine for busy weeknights or big parties.

A lovely floral nose graced by lilac and mineral notes. Light-bodied, with citrus accents and a round, balanced mouthfeel. Closes with a clean, crisp finish. Quite an achievement at the price. Best Buy.

Sweet lemon, mineral and vanilla aromas lead to a very lightweight palate. Citrus and apple notes are lively but somewhat dilute, but it’s refreshing nonetheless.

Thin and hollow, with only modest red fruit to go along with some pickled, vegetal aromas and flavors. Not flawed, but not particularly good either. A wine on the proverbial brink.

Pungent leather and pepper aromas are what you get from the nose of this nonvintage wine. The palate features sour cherry, some fleshy plum and a hint of earth. Overall it’s simple and clean, a Beaujolais imitator from northeastern Italy.

Musky pear aromas start things off, but the flavors are in sharper focus—a blend of pears and green herbs, finishing with a touch of anise. A bit sweet-tasting, so serve well-chilled as an apéritif. Best Buy.

The nose is packed with cedar, but not much else. Some cherry and berry fruit is accentuated on the palate by chocolate and drying woody notes. The finish is clean, smooth and of proper length. It’s fine, but it lacks punch.
