Blackberry, black cherry jam aromas, rich and ripe, but also filled with wood and earth tones, a bit tough; sweet and light in the front of the mouth, black cherry fruit, becoming more woody and earthen in the mouth; a bit coarse and rough, hard with brittle edges; good solid finish but not very developed yet; quite dry and earthen; maybe with more time in the bottle there will be more to show. (16/20)

A sound wine from a famous producer from the “lesser” part of Burgundy; the wine opens with a very earthy and barnyardy nose, there is quite a bit of sweet fruit mixed with an interesting green spiciness; sweet fruit and nice tight flavors; good balance of citrus flavors with the sweeter cherry flavors; not a big wine, of course, but sound; it does have a slightly green set of flavors though that are not good, and leave the impression of unripe fruit in the wine; long spicy finish, but the greenness cost the wine points. (15.5/20) Another bottle served at a different time with cheese seemed better and more complete.
