Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a fantastically crisp white wine from Northern Italy that offers clean aromas of citrus, stone fruit, kiwi and white mineral. The natural sharpness and focus it offers would work well with all kinds of salads and cool summer dishes.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a leaner, lighter expression of Pinot Nero that is slightly weighed down by bulky tones of charred wood that come on the heels of the variety’s natural small berry fruit, herbs, white mushroom and peppermint nuances.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a terrific wine with an attractively low price. Aromas include vibrant red fruit, forest berry and light shadings of Christmas spice. It’s an easy wine, but it’s also fresh with bright color, crispness and a streamlined impression on the palate.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This Trentino Sauvignon is surprisingly rich and viscous, coating the mouth with mixed fruit flavors, including tangerine, lime and pineapple. Despite the rich mouthfeel, the flavors linger delicately on the finish, giving an unexpected feeling of elegance. Best Buy.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Smells of honey and lychee fruit, but without the bold exuberance of Gewürztraminer. Pear flavors the midpalate, then turns citrusy on the finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A clear-cut crowd pleaser, with dried grass and green olive notes backed by fresh white peach. Twenty percent sees two months of barrel aging and although you don’t taste the wood, it does render a tighter, more compact structure in the mouth. Imported by F+F Wines International.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The Simboli line from Gruppo La-Vis offers good value and quality to match. This luminous Pinot Grigio is redolent of peach blossom, pink grapefruit, pear and apple. It’s light, crisp and lively on the close.

Ritratti offers an elegant Pinot Grigio with bright luminosity and pretty aromas of peach, apricot, pear and citrus. There’s nice richness here and the wine glides smoothly over the palate thanks to its rich consistency.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a textbook Italian white with an upbeat personality shaped by cheerful notes of peach, citrus, lemon grass, white stone and that distinctive rubber-like aroma often associated with Pinot Grigio. America has fallen in love with these characteristics precisely because wines like this are clean, easy, food-friendly and utterly unpretentious. It closes on a crisp, clean note with bright acidity and would pair well with pasta, pizza or Chinese food.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a very personalized, very different Merlot that shows beautiful elegance and grace thanks to cool-climate growing conditions and clay soils. The wine opens with a dark, full color and offers pristine aromas of cherry, pomegranate, leather and savory shades of spice.
