Very spicy nose with lots of herbs and nuances, sweet aromas emerge quickly that are ripe and rich with a buttery component to them; sweet and very round in the mouth with flavors of cookie dough and spices; there is a real presence of green spices in this wine, as expected, it is a high-acid wine with strong lemon juice components mixed into the body of sweet fruit; long finish with grapefruit peel flavors that add a touch of bitterness at the end. * Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Classic nose with cabbage and lemon peel aromas, touch of bitters; quite lemony and citric in the mouth and surprisingly thin; gets better with more time in the glass and takes on more subtlety of flavors with hints of minerals and wood smoke on the palate; long lemony finish, but lacks the power and complexity of the best Montrachets. (16.5/20)

* Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Classic first nose of sauerkraut and pickled cabbage, then opening to reveal more of a smoky, sweet fruit aroma laced with lots of acidity; powerful flavors from this wine, loaded with a wide swath of sweet fruit and spices; toasty and layered; nice finish, though seems somewhat lacking in weight at the end. Elegant and refined nose with perfumed, honeyed fruit aromas, sweet and exotic with candied fruit scents; the wine opens sweet and rich in the mouth, with a slight touch of bitterness; more time in the glass reveals considerable complexity in this wine with layers of lemon peel, sweet fruit, spices; complex and beautifully textured with an enticing creaminess; long finish, mouth-coating and concentrated with a nice hint of licorice at the end. Classic nose of sour cabbage and sweet fruit with candied lemon peel and minerals; sweet fruit in the front of the mouth, but quickly moving to strong acidity that becomes the dominant element in the wine; powerful and elegant at the finish with strong sustained flavors and nice focus. (17.5/20)
