Tasted in a blind flight, this wine simply didn’t fare that well. It comes across thin and slightly weedy, with cherry and leather notes.

Seems a touch sour to the nose, and maybe slightly reductive. Time allows it to improve, unveiling ripe cherry, plum and tea flavors. Finishes with chocolate and soy flavors as well as warmth. But it’s also fairly short.

A nose of molasses and popcorn, and a palate of brown sugar and very ripe grapes didn’t do much for our panel. Neither did the tart, tannic finish that runs heavy with residual sugar.
