Les Meslaines is the name of the parcel of Pinot Noir that produces this Blanc de Noirs. It has richness, a ripe character with fresh apricot flavors, a Champagne that has the weight of a wine. It could do with bottle age, but for freshness drink now.

You finish a bottle of Champagne, and with the last glass the wine suddenly opens out. This Grand Cru Brut is just that style of Champagne. It is closed, tight and needs time to breathe. That’s partly because the yeastiness gives it a young character, but also because the steely, citrus character needs the opportunity to broaden. Then it becomes a fine wine.

This is definitely a young vintage. It needs to age. The Lamiable steel and mineral style is very evident, all nervous tension. The lime and pear flavors offer the fruit element, but 2–3 years would really benefit this Champagne.
