Light but refined nose, clean and pure focused pinot noir, cherry fruits, herbs, asparagus, lanolin, and cracked black pepper; light and citric in the mouth; quite spicy with deep red cherry flavors; earthen and a bit hot; clean, fresh finish with nicely defined flavors that evidence both the fruit and the earth from which it came. Big nose with lots of power and depth, black fruits, mostly cherries, but some plum and apple notes, earth and smoke, hints of caramel and candy, floral; big and not nearly ready in the mouth; lots of black fruits in the front of the mouth, but the wine is still closed and tight; plenty of focused dry tannins keep the lid on the fruit at this stage and the wine needs more time to release the flavors; this might be several years away from real enjoyment, but a classy wine at this time.
