A gorgeous and decadent Syrah with aromas and flavors of black raspberry, black cherry, fudge brownie and coffee ice cream. The lush and creamy mouth is full but not overdone, with a fantastic evolution on the palate from fresh dark fruit to sweet chocolaty flavors and finally pepper-flecked spice on the long finish. Balanced and read to drink now, though you could hold for another couple of years to mellow.

A complex, tasty and remarkably affordable Viognier that’s sure to please. Notes of ripe apricot, honeysuckle and ginger spice mingle with the toasty sweet vanilla oak nuances throughout. Balanced and softly creamy in the mouth with flavors of ripe Anjou pear and lightly grilled peaches leading through to the long, lingering finish. Ready to drink now but should also keep well for another year.

Moody, complex and brooding, this is a superb wine and an exceptional value. Purple violets, black forest cake, cocoa nibs and espresso granules all abound on the nose, backed by dark juicy black raspberries. Full and firmly structured in the mouth with notes of pepper, tea, smoked meat and black fruit on the palate.

Produced from selected barrels of Viognier, Laurent Miquel considers this his premium white wine. It does seem to have all the exotic apricot and peach flavors of the grape, although a little less wood would have allowed them to be more expressive. But it’s still a fine, full, but still elegant wine.

This Australian blend comes across as something altogether leaner in the hands of Laurent Miquel. The fruit is fresh and lively, with some dark tannins, but the essence of the wine is in the black currant and spice that form its backbone.
