Woa! A masculine wine bar none. Smokey, tobacco-y, woody and then fruity, this is beautiful right now! Moderate tannin and low acid, but altogether lovely and would be a five star if only the finish had a little more juicy fruit and length. Aromas are knock-out (more impressive than the palate) and include pine cones, tobacco, unsweetened caramel chew, cocoa powder, pencil shavings, granite, almond skin and pumpkin seed; then, fruit aromas are blackberry & plum. Flavors are more one dimensional and include boysenberry, cinnamon and cocoa. Nice! Maybe a five star in three more years.
