There’s a raw, chewy quality to this simple Valpolicella that recalls black cherry and vinous grape. The wine proceeds with a mellow, soft feel and offers much more fruity intensity and personality in the mouth than it does on the nose.

Here’s an Amarone with raw notes of cherry and root beer backed by mesquite smoke, spice, leather and cigar box. It’s a very sweet, succulent wine with soft tannins and a long, chewy finish.
