Sharp and spicy, this estate-grown Chard mixes streaks of diesel and pine resin in with the green apple-flavored fruit. The mouthfeel is not entirely satisfying, and the finish leaves an impression of Band-Aid.

Effusive aromas mix cola, sassafras, cinnamon stick, cooked fruits and sandalwood. Despite a promising lead, the wine hits the palate with a hard, slightly bitter and astringent thud. The fruit is sideswiped with flavors of burnt match and rubber, and the bitterness continues into the finish.

This wine immediately wows the palate, bursting into full flavor with an explosion of apple and pear fruit. There’s a light yeastiness as well, just enough to suggest a young, fresh, exuberant wine, and it simply grabs hold of your taste buds and never lets go.

Much like the winery’s Pinot Gris, this estate-grown Pinot Blanc is built around mineral-infused fruit that is immaculately clean and vividly refreshing. Tart and juicy, with Asian pear, green apple, and lemon/lime acidity.

A home run. Given extra bottle age, this is drinking optimally at the moment, with a spicy, brambly nose mixing blackberries, mint and chocolate-covered cherries. There’s a scent of fresh cut wood also, and a mouthful of fruit and barrel flavors that are both nicely integrated and complementary. The long finish lingers into a resonant note of black tea.

There is good concentration to the estate-grown fruit, which mixes raspberry, boysenberry and cassis and provides a firm and lasting core of flavor. Some tasters may find the wine slightly reductive, with a burnt rubber quality; for others it will just be toasty and a bit tannic. Give it time to breathe and it opens up into a full-bodied, flavorful Pinot Noir with some medium-term aging potential.

This estate reserve has the aromas of Oregon Pinot, a mix of bramble, berry, sassafras and herb. Although the alcohol is listed at a healthy 14.4%, it does not feel too big; if anything, it seems a bit light for a reserve. Brambly berry fruit flavors give way to leaf and earth; then the wine fades quickly, leaving a slight burn in the back of the throat.
