Cherry, blueberry and cassis backed by earthy coffee give this wine flavor and heft, but it’s not a terribly complex pour. It would pair well with exotic dishes like spiced lamb or assertive cheeses. Grown in vineyards visited by the indigenous leopard population of the Franschhoek Valley/Western Cape Winelands area. Imported by Confluence Wine Importers.

Black pepper, spice, and the unique touch of violet are the hallmarks of this Shiraz from South Africa. The wine has plenty of muscular kick in the flavors but its overall nature is smooth and integrated, and will only get better with aging. Pair with typical Shiraz compliments like lamb or grilled meats.

This is a good example of how to work with Pinotage's assertive character in a way that is both inventive and accessible. Here, it adds body and a clean, dry character that balances the appetizing strawberry and honey flavors of the wine. Good acidity adds a lively punch. Overall, this is a great wine with a unique character.

Vanilla oak leads on this luscious Chard from Leopard’s Leap, and will please anyone with a taste for a more voluptuous white wine. There are also touches of melon here, but it’s mostly about the soft oak flavors. Good acidity keeps it from going too far in the wooded direction, and there’s an elegant balance overall.
