Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
With such abyss-deep black aromas (steak, pepper, licorice) the palate, by not knocking you out with giant tannins and lots of charred oak, feels slender in comparison. This is a pleasing balance of smooth tannins, and pretty black plum and blueberry flavors.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A good wine; an unusual blend of Mourvèdre (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (27%) and Shiraz (23%). Has a nice dusty texture, and an approachable, medium-weight size, but the plum fruit plays second fiddle to oak, dust, sweet tart, earth and other flavors. I'd love to see the fruit show it stuff more next vintage.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
An odd animal note blows off quickly, leaving pleasurable molasses, blackberry and black plums on the nose and palate. Acidity lifts the fruit out of darkness and a note of barrel char creeps in on the finish. —K.F.

This wine smells much better than it tastes. The aromas are of toasted coconut, cassis and a slight bubble gum like you might find in a pack of trading cards. Unfortunately, the mouth lacks richness for a good but boring Cabernet.
