From the S. Angelo in Colle subzone of Montalcino, this seriously fruit-driven expression relies on a solid bouquet of cherry, blackberry and cassis. Oak-driven layers of spice and toast appear with more clarity in the mouth and the finish is capped by long, silky tannins. Drink after 2013.

This Riserva Brunello delivers instant aromas of spice, toast and leather that are wrapped seductively around a core of black fruit and plum. Those spice nuances last long in the mouth and would pair with braised meat or beef stew. The tannins are tight, so drink after 2014.

Thanks to the impressive complexity here, you can easily attribute a long list of adjective to describe the nose of this elegant Brunello. Cherry, cassis, church incense, lavender and dried violets all come to mind. Tight tannins and a touch of astringency will soften with more time in the bottle.

Lisini delivers an extremely satisfying Brunello that is richly redolent of black fruit, plum, cola, root beer, leather and pipe tobacco. It feels vibrant and fresh in the mouth with well- integrated acidity against firm tannins. Pair this pretty wine with grilled meats.

Intoxicatingly smoky nose, like fine wood burning slowly on a cold night. The mouth is jam-packed with vanilla, chocolate and cream as well as black cherry and dark currants. Sweet and easy throughout, with a touch of coffee on the finish. Lovely, chewy stuff. Imported by Empson (USA) Ltd.
