Funky at first, then better. The nose deals stewed fruit dressed in mocha and a blast of char. Slightly muddled on the palate, with beefy, sugary red fruit that sports some bell pepper. Finishes crunchy and gritty, with a sweet-and-sour component.

A Chianti Classico from a hot and somewhat uneven vintage, Losi delivers this tame but slightly muddled expression of Sangiovese. The wine is characterized by firm tannins and sour cherry flavors. Drink now.
