A ripe, soft wine, one that’s creamy on the palate. There is just a touch of caramel, but the main flavors are of crystallized lemons, pears and honey. This is delicious, fresh, and a great aperitif wine.

What a wonderful wine. You could sniff it all day, with the beautiful raspberry, vanilla and peach flavors, and their nuances of coconut, white chocolate, hazelnut and yeast. In the mouth it’s delicate and rich, very dry, with subtle flavors.

From the famous maker of Cristal comes a truly lovely, ripe bottle of bubbly, bursting with buttered, roasted nuts and lemony fruit. The Brut Premier spends a little extra time in bottle before being released. It makes for a forward, lush and just plain delicious style of Champagne rather than one that is especially complex or elegant. If anything, this bottle will put you in a boisterous mood and keep any party hardy.

Pinot Noir character suffuses this wine, imbuing its aromas with a compelling meaty, leathery, sweaty quality. Full-bodied and earthy, it nevertheless shows great verve and liveliness in its brisk, citrusy finish. This is one Champagne that’s badly in need of age.

A nice, dry Champagne, with very subtle citrus flavors and plenty of yeast and bread throughout. Acids are high, and scour the palate. The bubbles are pretty rough, and require rich, salty foods for balance.

Close in style and profile to the Brut Premier, with the same citrus and yeast flavors and high acidity. But there’s just a trace of sugar that makes it feel a little rounder and softer. It’s still a dry wine. The hint of sweetness shows up on the finish.

This is an exceptional wine, as is the vintage. The fruits—grapefruit, crisp red apple—balance with a fine yeasty character. There is a great depth of flavor, the fruits going in a pure line of freshness. The one problem is that it is much too young, the result of the demand from the market for the next vintage. Age this wine for at least four years.

Although this tastes younger than some recent bottlings of this great nonvintage, it is still a fine wine. Its apple flavors meld effortlessly with citrus, grapefruit zest and just a touch of toast to show the depth of flavor that will emerge after a few more months in bottle.

Buttercream, soft caramel and toasted bread are backed by strawberry and cranberry on the nose and palate. This is well-balanced, with crisp acidity and smooth, lightweight mouthfeel. Exceptionally crafted to a state of simple elegance, this illustrates the meaning of aged rosé Champagne. A grand pour now that should hold its place for years to come.

From a great vintage, this rosé is still young, still developing. But already the outlines are there with ripe strawberry and pink grapefruit along with a tight flinty texture. The wine needs time for the acidity to calm down—age for five years.
