It’s hard to beat the quality achieved by this spectacular wine. Luciano Sandrone’s Barolo from the Cannubi Boschis cru is creamy, rich, opulent and sophisticated. It oozes flavors of espresso, ripe cherry, cassis, cola and licorice. In the mouth, it is extraordinarily bright and generous and the seamless finish can be counted in long minutes. And, the best news is: this wine will only improve with time.

Expensive, but worth every penny to experience such a big, lush, juicy mouthful of Barolo. Hints of dark-roasted coffee and wisps of maple syrup wrap around flavors of strawberries and tar, but this wine is all about the seduction of texture—velvety and supple, it leaves you wanting more and more.

The Cannubi Boschis cru (also known as Monghisolfo) is known for the excellent quality of its fruit. This expression is particularly austere and elegant and would fit appropriately in a gentleman’s smoking room or other such formal context. The aromas recall old leather, cigar box, dried rose petal and dried figs. Very interesting, very tight and firm.

Le Vigne is an evolved and elegant wine with dark fruit backed by smoke, spice and toasted nut. It’s a full, ripe, plump and linear wine with a dense, succulent close and sophisticated accents of mineral and cola on the long, long finish. Overall, this Barolo is beautiful and special.

The Le Vigne cru from Luciano Sandrone delivers focused aromas of wild cherries, white almond, cola and light shadings of sweet spice. The texture is drying and firm and the wine excels in the mouth thanks to the tight and supple feel of its tannins. Pair this delicious wine with lamb, pork or beef.

The 2003 Dolcettos have enough boldly flavored fruit to hang with your best blue-cheese burgers, enough spice to stand up to jerk chicken—and enough tannin to cut through the fattiest slab of ribs. What sets Sandrone's version apart is the sense of elegance that suggests it would be just as home on a white tablecloth as a rustic wooden table. A Marc de Grazia Selection, various U.S. importers.

One of the most exciting names in Barolo, with fruit from one of the most celebrated vineyard crus, this vintage of Cannubi Boschis is a real treasure. Cellar the wine 10 years or more to achieve balance between its firm tannins and bright acidity. The wine already shows incredibly complex aromas of wild berry fruit, truffle and cola and those tones will surely become more elegant with time.

Le Vigne Barolo offers beautiful clarity and purity in the form of black licorice, cherry cola, spice and black fruit. There’s a smoky or ashy note in the background and the wine feels balanced and integral on the tongue thanks to its tight tannins and gritty texture. Cellar for five plus years and drink with lamb cassoulet.
