Their first-ever reserve, this dark and tannic Malbec is densely extracted and shows the intense boysenberry character of the Northwest. Smoky tannins add a meatiness to the finish, along with some fat from new oak.

This tiny producer makes extraordinary wines. These Pinot vines are over 30 years old, low-yielding and hand-harvested. New oak is restrained and the wine is left to express itself in a truly Burgundian fashion. The scents have a revealing intensity, the bouquet is build up from many influences of fruit, spice, rock and barrel. In the mouth it’s full but restrained, with concentrated power and plenty of acid. Exceptional winemaking.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Syrah makes up almost three quarters of the blend; the rest is Cabernet, and the results are spectacular. This tiny winery (50 cases of this were produced) has come up with a meaty, substantial, poised and polished effort that offers both heft and elegance—a rare combo. Dense, deep blueberry in color, it sends up evocative scents of violets and berries, then smoothes into a silky middle with cedar, sandalwood, lead pencil and licorice. Soft, substantial tannins keep it gliding through a long, satisfying finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is 100% Syrah, just 100 cases produced, and jumps right to the top ranks of Washington’s best. Plenty of full frontal oak, but right behind it comes dark, serious, massive fruit. Beautifully layered, from hints of citrus peel, to red and blue berries, into the peppery and smoky finish, it is elegant and seamlessly integrated through flavors that last a full minute in the mouth.
