Starts off with rich aromas that are redolent of chocolate, coffee and black cherry. On the palate, it’s firm textured, framed in ripe tannins that highlight more cassis, earth, spice and complex herb flavors. Bright and long on the finish, this is a big, beautiful wine.

Sleek and smooth textured, this fleshy, velvety wine is packed with lovely plum, black cherry, cedar, herb, spice and chocolate flavors. It’s lush, long and rich, yet offers a good measure of finesse and elegance. Not over the top, just terrific.

Clean and zesty, with high acidity framing jammy, almost sweet flavors of pineapples, pears, gooseberry and mint jelly. Oak plays little or no role in this tart, fruity wine.

A very nice and drinkable Sauvignon Blanc with some extra dimensions of elegance. It has a rich, creamy texture that frames exotic flavors of tropical fruits, kiwis and limes. The acidity is brisk and mouth-cleansing, a perfect counterpoint to the richness.

Spicy and fruity, this extracted Zin floods the mouth with raspberry, cherry, currant and red plum flavors that even have a dimension of milk chocolate. It’s fully ready to drink now.

A polished, softly delicious Merlot, at a good price for the quality. It’s dry and richly tannic, with complex flavors of black cherries, red currants, red licorice, Indian spices and sandalwood. Ready now, but only 200 cases were produced.

Could almost be a Zinfandel, it’s so jammy-fruity in raspberries, cherries, red currants and pepper, with firm tannins and a solid dose of acidity. It’s also slightly sweet and one-dimensional.

Features subtle aromas of cherry cough syrup. Light and quite tannic, but may find a few fans for its upfront fruitiness. Not likely to improve.

A deep purple hue foreshadows the ripe, rich flavors in this wine. Jammy blackberry, cassis, herb, licorice and spice all blend nicely. They are framed in supple, firm tannins and backed by a tangy finish.

A product of warm-weather, old-vine plants, this comes across a little too intense, a little too astringent. Sweet, pleasant fruit is a bit hard to find amid the bullet-like intensity. Time could be on its side, but for now it’s a bit rough.
