Very disappointing nose, musty and flat with vanilla and earthen aromas; thin and dilute in the mouth with flat, two-dimensional flavors of earth and slate; where is the fruit?; thin finish and really unimpressive; does this wine need more time or did someone pour vin de table into this bottle? Very young nose, and perhaps not yet indicative; sweet and spicy white fruits, lemons, and white pepper, mixed with some aromas of beeswax and spices; in the mouth there is a big load of sweet lemons at first, then a bit more layering of flavors showing some spices and pepper; still a baby though, but has real promise in a very long finish for a wine this young. Sweet candied nose, lemon peel and lemon hard candy, perfumed with hints of minerals; first taste is soft and fruity, but then the wine quickly goes to a dominant set of flavors of lemons and lemon juice; quite citric in the mouth, but balanced; fresh and elegant; long, focused finish; I have found this wine good from year-to-year, and highlighted the ’92 at the Bacchus Lutèce dinner last year with equally impressive results.
