Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Deep burgundy in color, Felluga’s interesting Moscato Rosa would make a good companion to stewed prunes or chocolate with cooked pears. The wine is easygoing and simple with aromas of blueberry and strawberry jam. Wood flavors come in at the rear to create a good balance between sweetness and tangy spice.

A successfully executed wine, redolent of pear, peach and a dab of something green. An excellent food wine and especially well-suited for pasta and white meats. Imported by Della Terra.

Here’s an excellent quality Italian white (made from the native Friulano grape) available at a very reasonable low price. The wine delivers structure and stamina and the aromas include peach, apricot and almond. You could pair it with anything, from sushi to white meat.

Molamatta is a very successful blend of some of Friuli’s best varieties— Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Pinot Bianco—that earns high praise for both aroma and mouthfeel. Citrus, pear, peach and almond nut notes are backed by a dense, creamy texture.

Here’s a gorgeous Riserva expression of Pinot Grigio with a creamy, dense mouthfeel and prominent aromas of peach cream, apricot, almond paste and honey. Those yellow fruit flavors last long on the palate and would pair with shellfish or white meat. Very nice.

Marco Felluga’s creamy Chardonnay is exactly the kind of wine you’ll want to pair with butter chicken and mashed potatoes or lobster. There’s great consistency and density here and the wine is redolent of yellow rose, apricot, exotic fruit and light almond shadings.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This beautiful blend of Pinot Bianco, Friulano and Ribolla Gialla (three grapes that are widely grown in northeast Italy) shows typicity and territorial character. There’s structure and firmness here and although the wine isn’t particularly perfumed, its aromas of stone fruit and melon are compelling and extremely elegant.

Surprising density and smoothness characterizes this structured Pinot Grigio. The wine is redolent of peach, melon and mature grapefruit with a touch of nutty almond on the close.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This dense blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon shows some light browning on the edges and delivers intense aromas of spice, tobacco, Spanish cedar, figs and prunes. The wine is surprisingly delicate and lean in the mouth, especially considering the beefy first impression it makes.
