Deep complexity is the first quality you’ll notice in this wine. Dig deep to encounter penetrating notes of black cherry, nutty apple flavors, rose petals, crème brûlèe, carob powder, leather, exotic spice and dark chocolate. This is a wine painted in big brush strokes, with a vibrant personality, succulent tannins and great length. Pair it with roasted duck or grilled red meat.

A touch charred and meaty, as it starts with strong coffee, smoked meat and bark-like aromas. Opens with flavors of prune and black cherry, with shades of vanilla, leather and brown sugar. Rather lush and soft, with guaranteed appeal for those with a sweet tooth. Of note: it’s not that edgy, so drink it soon and try not to lose it in your cellar.

Marion makes some of the best Amarone on sale today and this standout expression from the stellar 2004 vintage proves the point. The wine is thick, deliciously succulent and redolent of mature black fruit, spice, leather, chocolate and pipe tobacco.

This is unlike any other Valpolicella Superiore available. It drinks like a Ripasso, or even an Amarone, with soft, luscious flavors and ripe aromas of black cherry and chocolate. The density and intensity are impressive indeed.
