Importer Bobby Kacher seemingly has a pipeline to the best rosés around Nîmes, and Mas des Bressades is a perennial favorite. The 2008 features layers of ripe fruit--berries and peaches--brought together in a lush, full-bodied but not overblown wine. Drink now.

Filled to the brim with bold upfront fruit--peaches and pears tinged with honey and truffle--the chief possible complaint is a certain lack of subtlety (who really needs it?). Fades a little quickly on the finish, but still represents good value. Drink now.

Inviting, layered nose of raspberry, strawberry, molasses, smoke, black olive, licorice and gamy notes. Nicely complex and flavorful with lots of ripe berry fruit, leather, black pepper and roasted meat notes. Medium to full-bodied with moderately firm tannins. Fresh, richly textured and dense without being heavy.

A strong effort, this iss a gorgeous rosé, loaded with wonderfully intermingled flavors of pears and strawberries and graced by hints of spring flowers and spice. It's lush on the palate, ending harmonious and long.
