The wine opens with a classic nose of earth, cassis, and sweet ripe fruit, quite mature and soft now with old Cabernet aromas; this wine, which was a classic in its day is now showing some age; the initial approach is sweet and ripe with mature black fruits; the mid-mouth taste is now showing its age with noticeable drying out of the fruit, and a sharpness in the flavors that has an edgy feel; still plenty of depth and complex black and red fruits, but the finish is defined more by dry, brittle tannins now; still good but not what it was.
