Arroyo Seco whites always show brisk, clean acidity and dryness, and that’s just what you’ll find in this juicy wine. It has stimulating flavors of citrus fruits, minerals, vanilla and a pleasant tang of white pepper.

Shows the crisp, natural acidity of this cool-climate appellation, with ripe flavors of red and black raspberries and red cherries, accented with sweet oak. Very nice, very fine, although it would benefit from extra complexity at this price. But drinks beautifully elegant now.

An absolutely delicious Pinot Noir. Hard to exaggerate the drinkability factor. Supremely ripe cherry and raspberry fruit is highlighted by brilliantly crisp acidity to make it all bright and lively. Oak plays second fiddle, contributing rich, tasteful notes of smoke, vanilla and buttered cinnamon toast. Just gorgeous for drinking now and for the next 5–6 years with your best fare.

Good price for an upscale Chardonnay this rich and interesting. It’s oaky, with vanilla and buttered toast flavors, but the underlying pineapple and Meyer lemon fruit easily supports the wood, while brisk, refreshing acidity provides balance.

This is a big, ripe, rich and oaky Chardonnay, the kind that will seduce lots of people with sheer dazzle, although only 135 cases were produced so it’s likely to be hard to find. Dry and crisp, it’s concentrated in pineapple tart and peach marmalade flavors, accented with plenty of sweet, smoky oak, and brightened with crisp Monterey acidity.

An absolutely lovely Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is just fine, ranging from lemons and limes to riper kiwis and green melons, and the finish is totally dry. But what really impresses is the natural acidity. It’s so bright and brisk, so mouth-cleansing. Entirely unoaked, this is a great restaurant wine.

Massively ripe fruit and brisk, zesty acidity are the hallmarks of this wine, which comes from the western benches of the Salinas Valley. It’s enormous in tangerine fruit, with a firm minerality that comes from the big rocks that gird the soil. A friendly, impressive Chard to drink now.

Bone dry and tart, with a real bite. Technically, the acidity isn’t terribly high, but for whatever reason the wine tastes sharp. The cherry flavors have pretty mushroom and mineral complexities.

This Pinot is quite tart, giving the cherry and cola flavors a sweet and sour candy taste. It’s nicely dry and spicy, but that acidity really cuts.

Showing oaky flavors of vanilla, butterscotch and buttered toast, this Chardonnay has the brisk acidity of the Arroyo Seco appellation. The flavors are of pineapples, oranges and limes.
