Named after the 18th-century founder of Château Lynch-Bages, this branded white Bordeaux has attractive, simple grapefruit and white-peach flavors. It is full, but crisp, a good example of well-made white Bordeaux.

From the same stable as Château Lynch-Bages, this is superior branded Bordeaux. It is fruity, ripe, full-bodied with solid dense tannins. An impressively powered wine, with some fresh black currant flavor and acidity.

The nose features some plum and faint cedar aromas, but not a lot of intensity; the light black-cherry and cedar flavors incorporate some earthy nuances on the finish. Light and correct, but where’s the beef?

Eye-opening lemon, green herb and mineral aromas lead into a palate that's sweetened by nectarine, and powdered sugar flavorsódon't worry, there's enough citrus in the mouth to keep the sweetness in check. Angular and somewhat steely in the mouth, it ends on a similarly metallic note. It's dry-what you'd expect from Bordeaux-and should be consumed with food. I had it with (and, well, in) cheese fondue, but it would be just as good with fish or pasta.

A soft, easy white Bordeaux. It is clean, citrusy, fresh, a line of grassiness showing through, and a fine apéritif style. The finale is crisp, tightened by acidity.

The Cazes family, which owns the Michel Lynch brand (as well as Château Lynch-Bages), also has vineyards in the Graves, and this well-rounded, spice- and pear-flavored wine draws on good vineyard contacts in that region. There is toast, along with citrus acidity and a fine, fruity finish.
