This Riserva Roero offers a very nice balance between Nebbiolo’s astringent typicity set against soft wood renderings. There’s a subtle sweetness here in the form of mature fruit and spice. Roero offers good value for lovers of Barbaresco and Barolo.

Barbaresco Ad Altiora is characterized by plumpness and ripeness of fruit. That rich, natural succulence is backed by firm tannins and drying sensations of exotic spice, licorice and tobacco leaf. The balance between those two extremes is what sets this bold red wine apart.

Here’s a very ripe expression of Roero Riserva with jammy aromas of strawberry and blueberry. The softness of the mature fruit, however, is tightly pulled back by the natural dryness and bitterness of the Nebbiolo tannins.

Here’s a nicely concentrated Barbaresco with distinct notes of tar, leather, asphalt and spice backed by softer notes of berry fruit, plum and prune. There’s immense personality and power here with drying tannins and plump fruit on the close.
