Wow! This would have fooled me if tasted blind. I would have thought it a very fine burg. Delicious, complex, full bodied and most complementary to king crab legs.

This is one of the typical California oaky wines with a nose loaded with sweet, oaky aromas, vanilla and steel; sweet, round and buttery in the mouth, fleshy and loaded with glycerin that coats the mouth; as with many of these wines, however, it lacks a core definition, and while pleasant enough, it leaves one looking for more. Classic nose with full aromas of tar and cassis, earth, green peppers and olives, black pepper, quite aromatic; full flavored Cabernet, this is a well-balanced wine; lots of red fruits in the front of the mouth with visible but not aggressive tannins; quite focused with good acidity; elegant and refined; not the “big” cult-style Cabernet, but well made and refreshing, without giving up the power of the wine; long, solid finish; this is a quarterhorse and not a thoroughbred, but a good one.
