The distinct smell of buttered movie popcorn smothers the nose and manages to pick up strength with time. And that doesn’t bode well for the friendliness of this wine, which has some cherry and cassis flavors but also a tannic-driven, rock-hard mouthfeel that makes it seem like you’re drinking gravel.
