Deep and rich nose, earthen, black pepper, lots of black pepper, intense and showing a lot of perfumed fruit; opens with lots of sweet fruit in the mouth, but then shifts to big tannins; also some serious acidity in the mid-mouth that is now acting to dry out the wine; there is still some succulent fruit at the end but this needs to be drunk in the next few years. (17.5/20)
