This is a very dry, tannic wine whose mouthfeel is too tough and astringent to enjoy now. It has lovely flavors of blueberries, blackberries, sweetly old leather, cola and peppery spices. Feels like there’s enough depth to last for 4–5 years and let the wine soften.

A bit tough in tannins, but it seduces with tart plum and ripe cherry flavors, and hints of leather and coffee. It’s a full-bodied, thickly textured wine that could use a year or two to come together.

An interesting Syrah and quite a good one despite some youthful vigor. The tannins are aggressive and accentuate the acidity, making the wine feel tough in the mouth. But it’s extraordinarily rich. Floods the palate with intensely ripe blackberries and blueberries, with cool-climate notes of black pepper. Give it a good decant before serving.

This Cabernet-Syrah blend is obviously very ripe, packed with black cherry and chocolate flavors, with interesting herb and pepper notes. There’s a nice edge of tan nins and acids. Sophisticated and intricate, it will pair well with lamb or beef.

A bit too ripe, to judge from the stewed berry and raisin flavors, but other than that, the wine is fully dry, with rich, complex tannins. Drink with roasted meats and hard cheeses.
