Very ripe—some tasters felt overtly overripe—aromas and flavors gave this wine a Port-like character. Prunes, figs and nuts, a supple, low-acid mouthfeel, and a long sweet-and-sour finish comprise an interesting, but not universally enjoyed package. A split decision, and very much a personal call.

Delicato says that this offering is more French-styled than its other offerings. Though you won’t exactly mistake this for a Cotes-du-Rhône, there’s more of a mineral component here than oak, and the fruit isn't as jammy and sweet as it is in some of the other offerings.

This quaffing Merlot was aged in oak for a year, which is evidenced by spice and caramel aromas on the nose. Plum and blackberry fruit is nice and jammy; mouthfeel is smooth but solid.

Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, and quite ripe and lush. There’s an undertow of Cabernet’s currant and herb tones, but the fresh, sweet cherry and rose notes of Grenache make it succulent. Finishes long, with a dusty coating of tannin.

Medium-bodied with grapey, plummy fruit—but also enough green vegetable and oak flavors to keep us from liking it more than we did. Finishes with oak and dry tannins.

From an unusual blend, it has an array of fresh fruit and berry flavors, and drinks on the sweet side. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Muscat Canelli and Viognier.

Rather full and heavy for a rosé, with cherry cough drop and orange flavors, and a thick texture. It will be good with a spicy Mediterranean fish stew. Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.

Dark, sweet cherry aromas and flavors predominate here, with slight leather and vanilla accents. There is decent acidity but on the palate the fruit is quite sweet, with an almost candied note. Finishes rather abruptly and tart, with fairly full mouth-coating tannins.

Rather raisiny and ponderous, this Zin has stewed-fruit and baked-apple aromas, and a green alfalfa or hay-like element. Doesn’t really take off, and lacks the varietal character most of the other wines in the range display. The finish is warm, with an odd metallic note.
