This Sangiovese-Montepulciano blend from the Marche is funky and obtuse. It’s got some gassy, rubbery aromas that blow off after persistent swirling, but even then the plum and blackberry fruit is tannic and excessively broad. While it shows glimpses of quality, it struggles for an identity.
