The Maremma is a paradise for horseback riders and hunters and there’s something about this juicy red that makes you crave a hearty game dish by an open hearth. Its aromas are very mature and include cracked white pepper, ripe blackberry, and smoked meat.

This red Passito dessert wine from Tuscany offers bittersweet aromas of wild cherry, raspberry, cassis and cola. It makes a simple but clean impression in the mouth and would pair with chocolate brownies or cherry pie.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This Morellino has a sharper herbal note that gives it an edgy feel. But behind those aromas are softer notes of red cherry and Indian spice. The wine tastes sweet yet tart in the mouth with soft tannins and a fresh touch of acidity.

This is a very attractive and straightforward Vermentino from southern Tuscany. This native variety is gaining in popularity and it’s easy to see why: the wine is fresh, crisp and very bright on the close.

Moris Farms offers a very generous and intense interpretation of Morellino with remarkable integrity of fruit and a big, plump, juicy style. The wine could pair with roast pork or fried chicken. A small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah is added to the wine.

Here’s a sweet Morellino Riserva with soft tones of black cherry and spice weaved throughout the wine’s thick, juicy concentration. It’s a simple but immensely pleasurable wine with slightly earthy tones of red soil and white mushroom. The wine is sweet and chewy and offers loads of ripe cherry on the close.

If you love Morellino di Scansano (and who doesn’t adore this easy, well-priced category of Italian red?), Morisfarms delivers some of the best. This is a bright, youthful and fruit-driven wine that would pair with spaghetti and thick ground beef and tomato ragù.

Vermentino, especially from this sun-drenched part of southern Tuscany, is quickly climbing the ranks as one of Italy’s most food-friendly whites. The variety’s natural characteristics lean towards creamy vanilla and mature peach, which make it a great companion to butter- or cream-based dishes. This expression also adds notes of dried apple, pear and cinnamon.
