Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Slightly stalky on the nose, with aromas of haystack and snappy citrus fruits. The palate is citrusy and acidic, with flavors of orange and grapefruit. Rounds into form with airing and time in the glass, but overall it’s just a modest, regular SB for basic purposes.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Mulchy on the nose, with compost, leather and purple fruit notes. There’s decent body to the wine but the flavors are stalky and green, with burnt, stemmy leftovers on the finish. A blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Lusty, deep Malbec from Patagonia. The nose is a puddle of rich berry, spice and chocolate, while the palate is snappy and alert even if the flavors veer toward roasted black fruits, sweetness, cola and sautéed mushroom. A bit tannic and biting on the finish, with earth and oak standing out.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Despite leafy, herbal, briney notes, the nose on this four-grape blend is earthy, subtle and attractive. The palate is full and concentrated, with flavors of roast meat, spice, herbs and baked berry fruits. Finishes savory. 40% each Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with 10% each Malbec and Pinot Noir.
