Seems a bit grapy to judge by the nose, but the flavors run toward blackberries, with hints of earth and hickory smoke. It’s a medium-bodied wine, with smoke, spice and meat overtones to the finish.

A new line of wines, the NXG Chardonnay represents a solid value, with abundant aromatics of citrus, flowers and anise and reasonably complex flavors to match. It’s medium- to full-bodied, but kept in balance by decent acidity and hints at minerality on the finish.
